SpartanNash desired to expand its Family Fare Supermarkets outside of its current Michigan borders with the rebranding of 6 discount grocery stores in the greater Omaha area. The redesign and rebranding included 4 No Frills stores and 2 Bag n’ Save stores which were a part of Nash Finch before it’s merge with Spartan Stores in 2013. All 6 stores were to remain open during the remodeling process.
In collaboration with SpartanNash, Paradigm Design navigated the initial scope development for all 6 locations. Paradigm provided full architectural and engineering services from start to finish. The renovated and rebranded Family Fare stores featured upgrades to the deli, bakery, dairy, and meat departments, as well as the addition of an organic and natural foods section, and expanded wine and craft beer sections. Varies other amenities were developed based on the specific needs of each individual store. Development of these projects started in the fall of 2014, with an aggressive grand reopening deadline of mid-July 2015.
