CLIENT OBJECTIVE

M&K Truck Centers has several locations throughout the nation, and added to their line-up with the Romulus location. Their objective was to create a premium building to service, new and used truck sales, trailer sales, lease and rental, service and repair as well as for parts.

PD SOLUTION

The civil design takes advantage of the site being located next to a highway by placing several spaces for display of new and used trucks. The pre-engineered building is divided into 3 sections. The first area is the office and sales portion of the building with several offices, multiple conference rooms, and support rooms for the employees located next to the lobby for customer connection. The second area, sales and parts, is located within and on the edge of the lobby. The services portion of the lobby offers its own covered canopy where the driver can enter the building, talk with the service staff, and wait in the lounge until the repairs are completed. The service area is large enough to accommodate up to 19 trucks/trailers at the same time. There is also a truck wash bay for after the truck is serviced. The parts area of the building is designed to maximize capacity. This includes a heavily designed mezzanine to store parts in addition to the main level. The outcome is a facility that has become M&K’s flagship.
