tom's fuel & wash

Client | tom's food center

CLIENT OBJECTIVE

The owner proposed to develop and construct a fuel center, car wash and convenience store. Associated site improvements would also include on-site parking. This structure would expand upon the owner’s already successful grocery store in town (Tom’s Market, another Paradigm Design Inc. project), with a center that is located conveniently off of the freeway and easily accessible to all of the town via the town’s main thoroughfare.

The existing building on the site was to be demolished, and considerable amount of site work needed to take place to provide storm water detention and discharge.

PD SOLUTION

Paradigm Design would provide full architectural and civil engineering services for this project. The result was a 3,000 SF convenience store with 16 parking spaces, a fuel center with 5 fueling islands, a tunnel carwash and two new driveways for the site.

The design reflected a similar language and color palette as Tom’s Market, down the street.  This helped brand the two structures together, but also allowed the car wash to become the focal design element, with its playful, sweeping curved roof and glass enclosure. The convenience store hints at a similar design. Emphasis was placed on creating a good view of the new structures from the freeway.
